About

SAKE (säkē): An alcoholic beverage also called ‘rice wine,’ and is made with a brewing process of fermenting rice.
UNDERGROUND (ˈəndərˌɡround): Art, opinion or organization that exists outside of mainstream society or culture. Also known as “independent” or sometimes “counter-culture.”
Sake is a growing industry in the USA but is still in the infant stage where not a lot of information is available and does not use accessible language that casual drinkers can understand. Sake Underground’s goal is to create an international-friendly community of sake fans, veterans, beginners and enthusiasts where information can be shared and discussed. We aim to understand sake more and more and learn about different types of sake offered around the world while also delving into categories of Japan imported Beers and Shochu (distilled spirits).
